Former Brookdale CEO joins Larry H. Miller board

The Larry H. Miller Company announced Cindy Baier, the former president and CEO of Brookdale (NYSE: BKD), has joined its board of directors.

“Cindy has been a leader in a complex, people-centered industry,” Steve Starks, CEO, said in a press release. “That experience gives her a unique approach, shaped by moments when trust, judgment and care all matter in equal measure. She will bring an important voice to the Larry H. Miller Company Board of Directors, and I look forward to our future collaborations.”

Baier joins the LHM board following the retirement of Robert Restrepo, who served for 10 years, the release states. Before becoming CEO of Brookdale, Baier served as the company’s chief financial officer and held executive leadership roles at both private and public companies.

NIC announces board appointments

The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care announced its newest board appointments and 2026-2027 officers.

The three new directors include Jamie Cobb, chief financial officer of Columbia Pacific Advisors; Ben Firestone, CEO and co-founder of Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors; and Tana Gall, president of Merrill Gardens, according to a press release.

Other appointments include Colette Dafoe, partner at Nixon Peabody LLP, as a subject matter expert; Kenneth Segarnick, principal at KCS Growth Partners, LLC as board chair; John Rijos, co-founder and operating partner of Chicago Pacific Founders and founder and chairman of CPF Living Communities as vice chair; Lynne Katzmann, founder and CEO of Juniper Communities as second vice chair; Bre Grubbs, chief strategy officer and partner at Leisure Care as secretary; Matt Ruark, senior vice president at KeyBank as treasurer; and Vikas Gupta, chief investment officer at Omega Healthcare Investors, Inc. as assistant treasurer.

SenioROI appoints chief marketing officer

Former Benchmark Senior Living marketing leader Craig Simmons has joined SenoiROI as its chief marketing officer.

In his role, Simmons will “lead the company’s marketing strategy, brand growth, product positioning and industry engagement efforts as SenioROI continues to expand its suite of data-driven solutions for senior living operators nationwide,” a press release states.

Simmons brings more than a decade of leadership experience to the position. He previously served as senior director of marketing at Benchmark Senior Living, where he “worked closely with executive leadership, regional sales teams and community marketing professionals to support occupancy growth and customer acquisition initiatives,” according to the release.

LCS names development leader

LCS has named Tom Mathisen to senior vice president and chief development officer, effective Oct. 1, 2026.

In this role, Mathisen will lead the company’s development strategy, oversee new development opportunities and support the continued growth of LCS and its client communities, a press release states.

Mathisen joined LCS in 2014 and has “led numerous acquisition and development transactions while building key capital relationships that have supported growth,” the release states.

Greystone appoints finance veteran to COO

Greystone, a national commercial real estate finance company, announced it has appointed Nicholas Gesue as its chief operating officer.

In his role, Gesue oversees daily operations across Greystone’s lending, servicing and asset management businesses and supports its continued growth, according to a press release. He reports directly to CEO and Founder Steve Rosenberg.

He most recently served as the CEO of NewPoint Real Estate Capital, leading the 240-person firm through an operational transformation and $425 million sale to Franklin BSP Realty Trust in 2025, according to the release.

New chief financial officer welcomed to Inspiren

Inspiren announced Gabrielle Fernandes has been appointed to its chief financial officer.

In this role, Fernandes will lead Inspiren’s financial strategy and operations, overseeing the fiscal infrastructure needed to scale the company’s AI-powered platform across senior living and beyond, a press release states.

Fernandes brings more than a decade of experience to the position, and most recently served as vice president of financial strategy and investor relations at Sequel Med Tech, the release states.

Ventas names executive vice president

Ventas (NYSE: VTR) has named Andrew Wattula to executive vice president of outpatient medical and research and CEO of Lillibridge Healthcare Services, a wholly-owned property management and leasing subsidiary of Ventas, effective in August.

He will “oversee the company’s differentiated outpatient medical and research business, which is a leading owner and manager of properties operating at the intersection of medicine, research and universities,” a press release states.

Wattula most recently served as chief operating officer at Hudson Pacific Properties, Inc. (NYSE: HPP), the release states. Before that, he “held roles of increasing responsibility at Beacon Capital Partners and Hines.”

EPOCH Senior Living transitions memory care leader

EPOCH Senior Living is transitioning Alicia Seaver to vice president of memory and brain health.

In this role, Seaver will “lead proactive brain health initiatives across all EPOCH Senior Living communities, collaborating closely with wellness teams to ensure practices are in place to promote cognitive engagement and support long-term brain health,” according to a press release.

Seaver joined EPOCH Senior Living in December 2011 and brings more than 25 years of experience in the senior living industry to her new position, the release states.

New vice president of innovation at Marquis Health Consulting Services

Marquis Health Consulting Services has named Liz Todd as its vice president of innovation for its mid Atlantic region.

In this newly created role, Todd is “advising Marquis’ skilled nursing center clients on their understanding of emerging, value-based care strategies and how these are reshaping the long-term care industry,” a press release states.

She previously held leadership roles at Delaware Valley ACO and Bayada Home Health Care. She brings more than two decades of experience to the position.

Windsor Run, an Erickson Senior Living community in Matthews, North Carolina, has promoted Amanda Bates to its sales director.

She brings more than a decade of experience to the position, according to a press release.

Bates started at Windsor Run in 2015, and in 2019 she was promoted to planning and moving consultant. She earned another promotion in 2022 to the community’s first sales manager, where she helped build and shape the Windsor Run sales team, the release states.
