AHEPA Senior Living receives fall prevention grant

AHEPA Senior Living announced that AHEPA 100 Senior Apartments recently received a $60,000 grant from the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County to convert 25 bathtubs into walk-in showers with safety railing, according to a news release.

The targeted safety upgrade is aimed at preventing and reducing falls at the community. AHEPA 100 Senior Apartments is a HUD Section 202-subsidized community providing affordable senior housing options since 2004 to residents in South Bend, Indiana.

“Fall prevention is one of the most direct investments we can make in the long-term health and stability of our residents,” Ike Gulas, Chairman of the Board of AHEPA Senior Living, said. “The Community Foundation of St. Joseph County’s investment in AHEPA 100 reflects exactly the kind of community partnership that makes a difference for older adults who have no safety net beyond the home we provide. We are honored by this support.”

MGL Partners, E5x Management announce affordable senior housing project

MGL Partners, in partnership with the City of Wheat Ridge and E5x Management, have announced plans for a new affordable senior housing development in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, according to a news release.

The community, known as Legacy Terrace Apartments, will be built at the site of the former Lutheran Hospital campus and bring 50 affordable homes for older adults 62 and older, the news release states.

The project’s partners intend to pursue a 9% federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and tax credits through the state’s Colorado Housing and Finance Authority in February 2027.

The community will include 43 one-bedroom units and seven, two-bedroom units with on-site parking, energy efficient building utilities and offer resident programming.

Triple Crown Senior Living starts on Indiana project

Triple Crown Senior Living has announced the start of construction on a new senior living community in Newburgh, Indiana, according to a news release.

Warrick Springs Senior Living will include 93 units of assisted living and memory care. The community is expected to be completed late in 2027, with an anticipated opening in the fall of next year, the release states.

Triple Crown Senior Living operates 16 communities in five states.

The Arbor Company, Braemar Partners start construction in Texas

The Arbor Company in partnership with Braemar Partners recently announced the start of construction on Arbor Terrace Frisco Senior Living, a new senior living property in Frisco, Texas, according to a news release.

The community will add 88 units of senior living, and the community will be operated by Atlanta-based The Arbor Company.

The new development is expected to be completed in late 2027 on a 3.35-acre site.

“Frisco is one of the most dynamic markets in the country, and we are proud to bring The Arbor Company’s approach to senior living to this growing region,” said Judd Harper, president of The Arbor Company. “Our partnership with Braemar on this project reflects a shared commitment to building a community where residents, families, and team members can thrive.”

Regent Construction Group serves as the project’s general contractor, Dwell Design Studio serves as project architect and HPA Design Group will lead interior design efforts, according to the release.

The community’s overall design is inspired by the “architectural vernacular of North Texas,” alongside landscaped courtyards for assisted living and memory care neighborhoods. Arbor Terrace Frisco Senior Living itself will span 39 assisted living residences, 22 units for assisted living and memory care transitions and 27 dedicated memory care units. 

Amenities at the new community will include multiple dining venues, surround-sound theater, arts studio, library, salon and a fitness and rehabilitation center.

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas and First National Bank Texas in partnership with NewLife Homes started construction on a new affordable senior housing property in Los Lunas, New Mexico, according to a news release.

Plaza Luna Lofts will add 57 apartment homes for adults 55 and older, and the project was made possible through a $1.4 million affordable housing program grant.

“Plaza Luna Lofts is a meaningful step forward in ensuring that Los Lunas residents have access to high‑quality, affordable housing,” said NewLife Homes Inc. Executive Director John Bloomfield. “This project was made possible through collaborative partnerships and a shared vision for supporting the long‑term well‑being of our older residents.”

LifeCare Development, Blake Management Group start construction in Texas

LifeCare Development and the Blake Management Group have announced the start of construction on The Blake at College Station, a new senior living community in College Station, Texas, according to a news release.

The Blake at College Station includes a two-story construction spanning 100,576 square-feet offering 117 units between assisted living and memory care settings.

“College Station represents another meaningful step in LifeCare’s growing development pipeline,” said Adam Mitchell, Managing Partner of LifeCare Development. “We are proud to move this project into construction alongside Blake Management Group and our team of project partners. We are also grateful for the support shown by the Chamber of Commerce, local leaders, and Chamber members who joined us for this milestone.”

The community will be managed by Blake Management Group.

Experience Senior Living recently announced the opening of a new community in Fort Collins, Colorado, according to a news release.

The Gallery at Fort Collins will host a grand opening ceremony on June 11 for the community that is marketed as a lifestyle-driven community designed around wellness principles.

The community includes 144 residences in a four-story building offering independent living, assisted living and memory care. Units include studio, one and-two-bedroom units.

“The Gallery at Fort Collins represents a new chapter in senior living, where hospitality, care, and culture come together. We’ve designed this community as a place where residents can truly thrive, with meaningful connection, elevated dining, and personalized care,” Experience Senior Living President Phil Barklow said in the news release.

Amenities at the community include a two-story grand hall, art studios, a theater, salon and a chef-led restaurant and casual dining. Other offerings include a pub, game room and sky lounge, according to the news release.

Cedarhurst Senior Living recently announced that its latest community, Cedarhurst of Shawnee, is set to open later this year in Shawnee, Kansas, according to a news release.

The community is set to open in September, and includes 72,000 square-feet as part of a two-story community that includes 63 assisted living apartments and 26 memory care suites on a 20-acre site, according to the news release.

Cedarhurst of Shawnee includes features like inset carpets, accessible cabinets and countertops at “mobility friendly heights,” to create an environment in which older adults can feel at home. The community also includes a dedicated fitness center, yoga studio and wellness programming.
